Abis Mal is a human from the Aladdin world, and an unwitting pawn/associate of the Friends on the Other Side.

Description and biography

While most of the time Abis Mal is an unaffiliated thief trying to make the big leagues in the criminal underworld of Agrabah, sometimes when he needs that sort of magical power-up to get the better of Aladdin and his friends, he turns to agents of the Devils to help point him in the direction of ancient magical artifacts that could chaos to unfold in the Seven Deserts if left to their own devices. In fact, it was due to Abis Mal's meddling that Sootini, the once great ruler of the Devils of Sheol, was able to be freed to plot his revenge against Chernabog.

Also, Abis Mal has been the cause of several other villains rising to prominence in the Devils' ranks, such as Jafar, Scourge, Magma, and Fashoom.
