Darkwing Duck, also known as Drake Mallard, is an ordinary citizen by day and St. Canard's resident superhero by night. He is assisted by his sidekick and pilot Launchpad McQuack and lives in a suburban house with his adopted daughter Gosalyn, next door to the bafflingly dim-witted Muddlefoot family. Despite his ego being the size of a small planet, he cares for the city and his friends, something the High Council values.

Biography[]

Darkwing's origins are rather fuzzy. During his childhood and teenage years, Drake was a complete dork, but by his high school days, he had already developed an obsession with crime-fighting. However, he frequently claims to have become a superhero on the day he became Darkwing Duck after his teenage years. He has been an active superhero for an unknown number of years. There are more than one origin stories for Darkwing, one of them being the young Drake inspired by his own time-travelling adult self, a Superman parody that is just nonsense being spouted out by a future version of Drake to make his origin seem cooler due to his ego, and at the end of the episode it is stated that the "myth" has "some basis in reality", indicating that it is not meant to be completely true, just a TV show and wearing a random disguise so he can defend his high school prom from Megavolt; this is the true origin at least continuity wise. Launchpad and Gosalyn entered his life somewhere along the way...

After his defeat of Taurus Bulba, he caught the High Council's eye. Aware of what happened in the Negaverse, they decided to train him for Negaduck's inevitable apperace. He's recently fallen on hard times, with Quackwork's Crimebots putting him out of business in St. Canard. Following this, he began to question his usefulness to the Council, and went into a 10-Minute Retirement. But with Honker kidnapped, and the Fearsome Five getting back together...

Powers and abilities=[]

Darkwing Duck had a certain intelligence that, despite not being genius-like, sometimes allows him to defeat his enemies. He also takes advantages of a great variety of gadgets owned by him, and he seems to have great skills when it comes to hiding in crazy places or infiltrating well-kept villain lairs.

The High Council briefly considered making him a Traveler but eventually decided not to, approximately for the same reasons that made the Friends giving up granting Peg Leg Pete magic powers.

Trivia[]

The High Council formulated some of Darkwing's origin stories to prevent any Agents to guess his true identity for his safety.
